“I wish I could see the ocean."
Sehun looked up from where he was sitting on the couch.
"It sounds nice - the waves and everything. I bet it'd look just as nice," Baekhyun continued, fingers tracing pattern-less shapes in the dust that had collected on the tabletop.
Silently, Sehun rose from his seat and made his way to where his friend sat, watching as Baekhyun would turn his chin in the direction of the coming footsteps, facing him with a sightless stare.
"I wish I could see birds, too. They sing well."
"Do you only want to see things that sound pretty?"
Baekhyun shifted in his chair, thinking. After a moment he shook his head.
"People talk about the sky a lot. I want to see the stars."
Sehun looked at his friend wordlessly a moment, observing the cloudy, pale stare that seemed to always just miss its target - try as Baekhyun might to return thoughtful gazes - always looking a little too high or a little too far to the side, never quite right. Sehun thought it was a ghostly kind of pretty though, those whitewash eyes, and how when you looked into them you knew he was paying attention, even if it didn't seem it. Baekhyun himself was a ghostly kind of pretty.
"They look a lot like you."
